Team
The people doing the reading
Research is only as good as the person who did it. Here is exactly who that is.
Our team
Meet the practice
Every engagement is led personally — you always know whose judgement you are reading, and which seats they hold.

Jerome Jostes, Managing Director
Jerome Jostes
Managing Director
Jerome founded J.J Stock Research on a straightforward premise: most investors are not short of information, they are short of time and a reliable filter. The raw material — filings, transcripts, disclosures — is public and free. Reading it properly is the work.
He leads every engagement personally, from the initial screen through to the written conclusion and the call that walks you through it. Clients deal with the person who did the analysis, not an account manager relaying it.

Divisions
How the practice is organised
Four divisions carry every engagement. Each seat below shows who holds it today — a named person where one is in place, and led by the principal where the function is not separately staffed.

Research
Primary-source work. Filings read end to end — footnotes, proxy statements, transcripts — until we can explain how a business actually converts effort into cash.
- Head of ResearchJerome Jostes
Sets coverage, owns the final written view, and signs off every thesis before it reaches a client.
- Research AnalystLed by Jerome
Filing review, business-model breakdown, management and incentive assessment.

Analysis & Valuation
Where the reading becomes numbers. Multi-year models built from primary sources and stress-tested against a bad year rather than a good one.
- Valuation LeadJerome Jostes
Scenario modelling, downside cases, and the valuation range that appears in every report.
- Financial ModellerLed by Jerome
Model build and maintenance, cash-conversion analysis, balance-sheet stress testing.

Market Intelligence
Context around the company. Peer sets, cycle position and regulatory exposure, so a single-stock conclusion is not an unexamined bet on a whole industry.
- Sector CoverageJerome Jostes
Peer comparison, cycle positioning, and the macro variables that genuinely drive each sector.
- Data & ScreeningLed by Jerome
Maintains the quantitative screens that narrow the universe before analyst time is spent.

Client Services
Scoping the question before work starts, and walking through the finished research until you can argue the thesis yourself — including against it.
- Client EngagementJerome Jostes
Scoping calls, written delivery, and the walkthrough that closes every engagement.
- Client OperationsLed by Jerome
Scheduling, engagement letters, and research distribution.
Where a seat reads Led by Jerome, that work is done by the principal rather than a separate hire. We would rather say so than imply a bench that isn't there.
How we're set up
What a small practice means for you
Boutique is not a euphemism here. It is the reason the research goes as deep as it does.
You deal with the analyst
No account-management layer between you and the person who did the work. The analyst who wrote the research is the one who walks you through it.
Small by intention
Depth per company is the product. A longer coverage list would mean less time on each name — the opposite of what clients come here for.
One standard, every report
Cash conversion, balance sheet under stress, competitive position, and a stated bear case. Every piece of research clears the same checks.
Nothing is outsourced quietly
If any part of an engagement involves a specialist outside the practice, you are told before the work begins — not after you receive it.
Want to talk to the person who'd do the work?
No intermediaries, no call centre. You get Jerome.
